Songs by
Gordon Dyson
Gordon Pullin (tenor) with John Cooper (piano)
------
GORDON H. DYSON was born in Huddersfield in 1939. Following a brief period as a reluctant teacher, he has devoted his time entirely to writing poetry and composing songs and piano music. His poems have appeared in 'The Sunday Times' and in 'The Cornhill Magazine' (Byron's publisher!). Recently two of his piano works were broadcast on Radio Three. He corresponded with Robert Graves and met him twice, hence his interest in setting Graves's poetry. This CD includes all Gordon Dyson's settings of Graves, Housman and Baudelaire, as well as a representative selection of his settings of other poets from a total of some seventy or more songs.
